Make a Donation
This project succeeds because of the fantastic support we receive from our sponsors, local businesses and members of the public. Every donation helps us to achieve our restoration goals - planting another tree, replacing an aging trap or buying bananas for skink monitoring! You can donate to the Friends of Matakohe-Limestone Island (FOMLI) through Givealittle, a secure and recognised New Zealand charity portal.

People visiting the island are welcome to give a gold coin donation to the island ranger. Every bit helps with the work the Society does on the island.

Donate materials or services
Business or private, if you have items to donate and which we can use (new or used) then we will gladly have them.

If you are a business and can provide us with free or discounted items or services, we would love to hear from you. All business donors are recognised in our Partners and Sponsors page of this website.
Purchase the History Book

Buying a copy of the island's history book "More than just a little Island" also supports the Society as a percentage of the purchase price goes back into conservation work on the island. The 120 page soft-cover history book was researched and written by local historian, Tim Clark and produced thanks to sponsorship by Golden Bay Cement. Full of historic pictures, it details the fascinating lives of both Maori and early Europeans on the island and how their activities changed the fabric of the island itself.

The book costs $30 plus $5 postage and packaging. It can be purchased by contacting the island ranger.

From the early days of the island restoration, ongoing relationships with local businesses and organisiations have been an essential to progressing toward the big picture goals and reaching historic milestones. We see our sponsors as important partners in the project with us. If you are considering sponsoring a project please consider us; we are a fantastic community driven project with a wide base of Friends and supporters and a diverse range of exciting projects on the go. Get in touch and find out about the opportunities for your business or organisation to get involved and support an amazing community asset.
