What inspired us to adopt-a-spot:
We started this group in memory of our friend Katie Cooper. Katie was a keen landscape architect, and loved the outdoors, so we decided to adopt a spot to care for on Limestone Island to carry on her good work. The Girls: Rebecca, Theda, Tanya, Pam, Felicia, Jayna and Stacey.

Tanya, Rebecca, Felicia and Theda over today.Turned out to be a great day for weeding at our adopt-a-spot. After Bernie gave us a quick rundown on some of the target weeds and an example of how to kill a moth plant, we were into it. After a good couple of hours work we got about half way through our patch, Felicia found some monster thistles and we had hung up countless moth plant seedlings. Thanks to Tanya, the track edge along our spot is looking weed-free, after she pulled out all weeds within arms reach. Planning to be back next month with the whole crew.

Pam, Theda, Tanya, Jayna and Jimmy over on a VERY muggy day.  Due to the humidity we didn’t achieve as much as we would have liked, but continued on weeding the other half of our patch.  Tanya continued weeding along the pathway while the others disappeared into the undergrowth to continue pulling target weeds.  We also decided to increase our adopt-a-spot area so that it includes an area along the pathway towards the ruins.  Planning to be back in April.
